“...THE GOVERNMENT JUBILEE.
Her Majesty, Queen Wilhelmina, Queen of The Netherlands,
Princess of Orange Nassau, Duchess of Mecklenburg, etc., etc. as-
sumed the government in virtue of the Constitution of the Kingdom
of The Netherlands on the day She became of age,that is on August
31,1898. She was officially installed in the Nieuwe Kerk at
Ainsterdam on Sptember 6, 1898, where She also took the oath.
During the reign of Queen Wilhelmina, The Netherlands was
looking forward to a period of harmony and strong unity. As
early as in 1901 She introduced the so-called ethical policy with
respect to the Netherlands East Indies, through which the native
population then already acquired more right of say in their own
matters of administration.

Her marriage to H.R.H. Prince Hendrik, Duke of Mecklenburg, in
1905, from which marriage H.R.H. Princess Juliana was born on
April 30, 1909
