About Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez Collection
"Mr. dr. Moises Frumencio Da Costa Gomez, “Doktór” as he is affectionately called, was one of Curacao’s passionate advocates for autonomy and political emancipation. He was a firm believer of education for all as instrument for political awareness, patriotism and national self-reliance. Doktór was a visionary on several fronts as he not only was one of the architects of the Statuut voor het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden releasing the islands from their colonial status and achieving autonomy. He can also be considered as the founding father of the University of the Netherlands Antilles."
